Amalfi Coast Travel Guide
Oh, Amalfi - you beautiful gem.
This glorious peninsula with stunning cliffside resorts give you all the Dolce Vita vibes. This location is taxing to get to - but oh, is the journey WORTH IT.
When to Visit:
We went at the end of May, and it was PERFECT. Not necessarily the best time to swim, but the weather was warm, and crowds were incredibly scarce. Keep in mind that the Amalfi Coast is a seasonable destination - they'll be locking their doors come October.
Things to Consider:
Don't come to Amalfi specifically for the beaches. There are no actual sandy beaches in the area, except for a few black pebble beaches.
How to Get There:
You'll likely arrive from Rome, or Naples, and then there are a few stops to take to get to the beautiful coast. Don't worry - the view is breathtaking on the journey.

What to Eat:
- Amalfi
- Grand Marina - right on the beach, near the pier. This was one of our favorite places the whole trip!
- Positano
- Il Tridente at Hotel Poseidon
- A must! One of our all time favorite views
What to Do:
- Mozzarella making
- Limoncello tasting - (YUM!)
- Capri boat tour
- A boat ride along the coastline - stunning
- Sunset concerts in Ravello (summer only)
- Hiking into the high summits and plateaus of the Monti Lattari, the mountain range of Priano, Amalfi and Ravello
- Hiking the world-famous Path of the Gods followed by a coastline picnic
- A private tour of the Pompeii ruins
- Visit to the ancient city of Pompeii
- Visit Ravello with 2 enchanting gardens/villas: Villa Rufolo and Villa
- Cimbrione
- Stroll along Positano tasting a lemon granite
- Spend a day at the beach in Maiori, near Salerno.
- Water sports
- Helicopter rides
- Tandem skydiving
- Pompeii under the moonlight
